Usually, if just suspended, they are barred from participating as player, coach, manager,... I suggest that instead they should be fully encouraged to participate but as a referee. After one season (and about 40 games) they should have a better appreciation of the role. If they physically abuse an official, they should be persecuted to the fullest extent of the law.<br /><br />P.S. I was an official (hockey and baseball) and had a few rude comments hurled my way. Luckily, it never got out of hand. Some even took the time to apologize afterward.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
