The Hockey Show returns to the airwaves tonight at 6:00PM CT on UMFM where we will feature a very special guest! She has played in the Olympics and won a gold medal, she has won five World Hockey Championships and been named as the MVP twice, and she's one of the best hockey players to ever have come out the city of Winnipeg. We'll be chatting with goaltender Sami Jo Small tomorrow as she heads back to her hometown for Scotiabank Girls' Hockeyfest this weekend in Winnipeg!
We'll talk with Sami Jo about how she got started in hockey, the challenges she faced in playing hockey on boys' teams, her days playing in the PAC-10 with the Stanford men's team, her Olympic experiences, and a pile of other topics. We'll preview the Scotiabank Girls' Hockeyfest that will be happening on Sunday, February 17 at MTS IcePlex, and we'll get Sami Jo's take on how the Hockeyfest went in St. John's, Newfoundland this past weekend on Hockey Day In Canada. In short, we're excited to have the Olympian on the show, and we're looking forward to seeing Sami Jo on the ice this weekend as she passes on her hockey wisdom and knowledge to the next wave of women's hockey player. As always, if you have questions for Sami Jo Small, please tweet them through to me at @TeebzHBIC!
Tune in tonight at 6PM CT to catch our chat with Sami Jo Small as we get ready for some great hockey fun on the weekend at MTS IcePlex with Scotiabank Girls' Hockeyfest. Sami Jo Small will be an on-ice instructor, and Beans and I will be attending to get interviews and pictures of the activities and participants. If you're in Winnipeg on Sunday, come down to MTS IcePlex and say hello. Heck, you might even get a prize out of us!
And Happy Valentine's Day to everyone!
Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice!
