The Hockey Show - Episode 113

The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced hockey radio show, is back with another busy show tonight. There have been some crazy things happening in hockey this week, and we'll run down a pile of them tonight. There is a lot to talk about and the phones will be open, so get dialing tonight to be part of the show! All the details on how to contact us are below, so let's get this party started!

The jerseys to the left are what the Blackhawks will be wearing in the 2015 Bridgestone Winter Classic against the Washington Capitals on January 1, 2015 from Washington, DC. Personally, I like how the Blackhawks went entirely historic in wearing their 1957 uniforms. Yes, it's very white, but it's almost entirely accurate in its replication. The only thing not accurate is the name on the back of the jersey, but that's a minor quibble. Tonight on The Hockey Show, we'll discuss these uniforms in comparison to the other uniforms that the Blackhawks have worn in previous iterations as well as comparing to the new standard on The Hockey Show, Columbus' Puffy Shirt jersey.

We'll also talk about the craziness in the OHL with the social media app and the resulting suspension, Marc-Andre Fleury's new contract, David Leggio using the rulebook to benefit himself and his team, the New York Rangers picking up Tomas Kaberle to patch the holes in their blue line, Ryan Whitney joining the KHL's HC Sochi in the hopes of landing an NHL job, Carolina benching Alexander Semin only to start winning, Kris Versteeg's interest in buying the Lethbridge Hurricanes and how that may affect a junior team possibility in Winnipeg, the Winnipeg Jets and their recent play, and we'll update everyone on what's happening with the University of Manitoba Bisons men's and women's hockey teams.

3 ROUNDS DEEP! returns tonight after a lengthy hiatus, and we're going to have some fun with this one. If you missed the late addition to the Ducks' roster the other night, you might have seen #79 Dwayne Roloson sitting in as the backup goaltender. Roloson was actually an emergency fill-in after John Gibson fell to injury in the warm-up, forcing back-up Jason LaBarbera to defend the net while the Ducks scrambled for a backup netminder. In stepped Ducks' goaltending consultant and 45 year-old Dwayne Roloson. However, you never see any other position take a retired player and drop him in when there's an injury. So tonight, we ask you on 3 ROUNDS DEEP! what retired non-goaltender would you like to be able to call upon in an emergency for one game?

Same rules apply as always for tonight's 3 Rounds Deep as we can't repeat picks made by the others, so we'll see how this plays out. Phone lines will be open at (204) 269-8636 (269-UMFM), and we'll hit Twitter and Facebook for everyone else to participate. If you want to toss some names in electronically, the Twitter and Facebook links are below where you can go 3 Rounds Deep!

Going 3 ROUNDS DEEP tonight: players who need to step up this season! You know what to do!

The phones go live for chatter tonight at 5:30pm, so feel free to call at (204) 269-8636! Hit us up on 101.5 UMFM on your radio dial in the Winnipeg region or you can listen live between 5:30pm and 6:30pm CT on your web-enabled device at the UMFM webpage! You can tweet us anytime you like by hitting us up at @TeebzHBIC on Twitter.
