Simply Beautiful

The San Jose Sharks are celebrating their 25th anniversary this season, and they're starting to ramp up the celebrations. There will be a pile of promotions all season long for fans, and they introduced their heritage jersey at today's fan festival. There really isn't a lot of "heritage" in the Sharks' previous jersey iterations, so there was a lot of hope they'd do the right thing and wear their original jerseys for the three Heritage Nights they have planned this season. Will we see the teal once more? Are we heading back to the 1990s once more?

Before we get to that, you should know when the heritage jerseys will be worn. There are three nights planned thus far as well see them on Tuesday, November 3 vs. Columbus, Tuesday, December 1 vs. Pittsburgh, and Monday, January 18 vs. Ottawa. If you're in the San Jose area or are planning a trip that way, get your tickets early for these games because I know the Sharks are going to look good!

How do I know this? The photos posted are the proof!
The Sharks are going back to their original jerseys, and these look fantastic! They are identical to the jerseys worn by names like Kisio, Falloon, Whitney, Wilson, Ozolinsh, and Irbe. The font, the shoulder patch, the chest logo, and the stripes are perfect!

There isn't much to say other than I love these heritage jerseys.
Don't get me wrong. I'm all for modernizing cartoonish logos and updating brands as the product evolves. There have been some very good updates made in sports, and there are a pile of poor updates. The Sharks' old logo needed an updating, but the colours did not. That colour scheme is still gorgeous, and it's a shame it will only be seen three times this season. If the Sharks were smart, they'd ditch the black uniform and keep this heritage jersey as their alternate.

The San Jose Sharks look glorious once again in their throwback jerseys!

Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice!
