Nine teams. 24 seasons. Nearly 2000 points. Two Stanley Cups. A pile of other hardware. A sure-fire first-ballot Hall-of-Fame player. Perhaps the greatest Czech-born player to have ever put a pair of skates on. And now, he's a Calgary Flame. Jaromir Jagr took to the ice versus the Los Angeles Kings for the first time as a Calgary Flame tonight, and he didn't look out of place after having not played for nearly six months of action. While he didn't score any points tonight, you know it will only be a matter of time before this legend starts lighting the lamp.
Jagr lined up on the third line tonight with Sam Bennett and Kris Versteeg, but it sounds like Jagr is his own biggest critic following the 4-3 overtime win against the Kings.
Regardless of how he feels after his first game, it's great to see Jaromir Jagr back on the ice in the NHL.
Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice!
