In reference to the title above, there are no long turkeys this weekend nor is there a specific "turkey weekend" that's longer than any other weekend, but we here in Canada are celebrating Thanksgiving by taking today off from work, enjoying a feast where we give thanks for all the good things in our lives (if not already done on Sunday), and possibly doing some early federal election voting if one can squeeze it in today. I will say that my early election ballot has already been cast with regards to the October 21st election, so I'm a small step ahead when it comes to seeing who our new Prime Minister will be. Whatever it may be that you're doing today as a Canadian, just remember to give thanks for all with which we, as a great nation and amazing place to live, are blessed.
I'm taking the day off after a busy weekend of hockey and errands, so this place, like most businesses across Canada, is closed for the day. There are some afternoon hockey games to watch, some games that take place in the evening, and a whole host of other stuff such as the MLB postseason that should keep you entertained while I'm giving thanks. Talk amongst yourselves, enjoy the entertainment, and we'll reconvene tomorrow.
Happy Canadian Thanksgiving, everyone!
Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice!
