The Hockey Show - Episode 532

The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced radio show that strictly talks hockey, is back tonight with a preview for a big event, an announcement, and a discussion on something that is veering towards absolute insanity with every passing day. All three are fairly sizable stories so we're going to move at a good pace tonight as we go through all the news. We'll sprinkle in a few other stories as well, but the entree on our feast of hockey news features an event, an announcement, and some crazy.

As you can see from the image to the left, Teebz and Jason are excited about the first annual Ducky Pond Hockey Classic! Teebz sits down with Anders Strome, Director of Player and Alumni Relations at True North Sports and Entertainment, to get all the details on the Ducky Pond Hockey Classic including registration, hockey information, location, dates, which charitable organizations will benefit, and more! After that discussion, Teebz will make an announcement about an upcoming event that UMFM will be involved in that should have hockey fans excited. Finally, our hosts will look at the recent Tempe city council meeting and what has developed in the efforts by the Coyotes to secure their new arena and entertainment district along with the pitfalls that no one seems to be discussing. All of that and anything else we can fit into the hour will be featured tonight on The Hockey Show at 5:30pm CT so join us on one of 101.5 FM, Channel 718 on MTS TV, or via UMFM.com!

If you live outside Winnipeg and want to listen, we have options! The new UMFM website's online streaming player is pretty awesome if you want to listen online. If you're using an Apple device, the player doesn't seem to like Safari yet, so if you want to stream the show I'd recommend Radio Garden to do that as it works nicely with Safari. If you're more of an app person, we recommend you use the TuneIn app found on the App Store or Google Play Store. If you do use the TuneIn app, you won't be disappointed. It's a solid app.
