The Hockey Show - Episode 551

The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced radio show that strictly talks hockey, is back tonight with an annual event that we truly enjoy holding for our listeners. It's officially the kickoff to the 2023 version of Survivor: NHL Playoffs as 16 teams are officially in the playoffs on this final day of the regular season with only a couple of spots left to nail down in the who-plays-who part of the playoffs. Tonight, though, we get 16 people set for the best radio contest on the FM dial as Survivor: NHL Playoffs gets underway!

The phone lines will open up at 5:40pm - 10 minutes after the show starts - as Teebz and Jason will take you through the brief steps on how you can be one of the 16 people in this year's edition of Survivor: NHL Playoffs. The name of the contest mentioned at the end of the previous sentence is linked to the page with all the rules on it, so I suggest reading that before calling tonight so you know what's happening. From there, we answer calls, assign people to teams, and get everyone setup to win prizes. You can't win if you don't call, though, so make sure you're near a phone and a radio or internet-connected device tonight to take part in Survivor: NHL Playoffs!

Before we go any further, I cannot stress this enough: please read the rules. This is the easiest contest to participate in and you don't even have to know anything about hockey. All we ask is that you know that you'll be required to participate at times, and that Teebz and Jason want you to participate. It's more fun with more voices, so please read the rules so you understand what you need to do!

A few people have already messaged me saying, "Teebz, you didn't post the phone number!" and that's verifiably correct. Why didn't I post it? Because you're going to listen to the show to hear what phone number you're going to have to call. You can't tell me you don't have a radio or internet-connected device near you all day, so options are below. Make sure you tune in tonight!

How do you tune in, you ask? The UMFM website's online streaming player is pretty awesome if you want to listen online. If you're using an Apple device, the player doesn't seem to like Safari, so if you want to stream the show I'd recommend Radio Garden to do that as it works nicely with Safari. If you're more of an app person, we recommend you use the TuneIn app found on the App Store or Google Play Store. If you do use the TuneIn app, you won't be disappointed. It's a solid app.
