50 Days And Counting

The NHL kicks things off on October 2 with games from Europe. With today being basically over at this point, tomorrow marks 50 days until the NHL regular season starts. It's hard to believe that it's that close, but there's only seven weeks plus a day until the season starts. Four teams embark on the path to the Stanley Cup on the opening weekend in October, and, to be honest, I'm pretty excited for this upcoming season. I listed off the ten events that I'm looking forward to this season, and I'm still pretty pumped for the Winter Classic. With the Penguins defending the Stanley Cup and 29 teams trying to knock them off the mountain, these next 50 days can't go by fast enough.

The last thing you may have seen was this image.

Or maybe, depending on who you were cheering for, it was this image.

All I know is that this montage done by CBC is the last memory I have of last season. And it simply isn't enough to get me through this summer.

I need my fix of hockey. 50 days. It seems like a lifetime.

Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice!

My Panthers will be kicking things off in Finland. I'd love to go, but will have to settle for a game down here.
