The Hockey Show - Episode 507
The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced radio show that strictly talks hockey, settles in at the UMFM studios tonight to bring you another show about the fastest sport on ice. There are only three teams still vying for the Stanley Cup, so we'll send another entrant in the Survivor: NHL Playoffs contest home. Four teams remain in the AHL, and there's one quirk that needs to be pointed out about one of those remaining AHL clubs. Beyond that, we'll bring you news and insight from around the hockey world as we always do on this show, so buckle up for another fun edition of The Hockey Show tonight!
Teebz and Jason have a lot to go over as there's the IIHF U18 Women's World Hockey Championship happening in Madison, Wisconsin this week, and Canada plays a huge game against the Americans tonight after dropping a contest to Finland and beating Sweden. A win would help Canada immensely against an incredibly-talents US team! Beyond that, the hosts will chat about the Stanley Cup Playoffs while trying to get Jenna on the phone for her exit interview for the Survivor: NHL Playoffs contest after Edmonton was swept by Colorado. They'll also touch on the Bruins firing Bruce Cassidy while talking about a potential rebuild, whether or not Cassidy should be interviewed by the Jets, and how Edmonton may have gotten farther this season, but all of the same problems exist. They'll chat about some of the hirings made this week, a Canada West reason to keep an eye on the ECHL, and that fun AHL quirk that might surprise people. It'll be another show the gets the most out of sixty minutes, so tune in at 5:30pm CT so you can hear The Hockey Show on 101.5 FM, Channel 718 on MTS TV, or via UMFM.com!
If you live outside Winnipeg and want to listen, we have options! The new UMFM website's online streaming player is pretty awesome if you want to listen online so you cnn call in for the contest as well. If you're using an Apple device, the player doesn't seem to like Safari yet, so if you want to stream the show I'd recommend Radio Garden to do that as it works nicely with Safari. If you're more of an app person, we recommend you use the TuneIn app found on the App Store or Google Play Store. If you do use the TuneIn app, you won't be disappointed. It's a solid app.
If you have questions, you can email all show queries and comments to hockeyshow@umfm.com! Tweet me anytime with questions you may have by hitting me up at @TeebzHBIC on Twitter! I'm here to listen to you, so make your voice heard!
Tonight, Teebz and Jason chat IIHF results, NHL intrigue, ECHL ties, AHL fun, coaching carousels, exit interviews, management follies, and much more exclusively on 101.5 UMFM and on the UMFM.com web stream!
