The Hockey Show - Episode 530

The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced radio show that strictly talks hockey, is back on UMFM tonight with answers! Ok, there aren't a lot of answers to be given, but you may be asking what answers to what questions. As you may recall, our hosts have been following each and every step of the Hockey Canada scandals that have been in the news, and we got another round of questions in front of the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage on Tuesday where, for the first time, we actually got answers on things. It was a far less contentious meeting between Hockey Canada and the Canadian Government, and we actually hear words we've been waiting to hear since this process started!

Settle in, get a snack or some dinner, and get ready for some fun as Teebz and Jason will dig into Tuesday's hearing with the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage involving Hockey Canada's former CEO Bob Nicholson and current Senior Vice-President of Strategy, Operations, and Branding Pat McLaughlin. There was a significant tone change in this meeting compared to previous meetings, so it appears that some members of Hockey Canada - past and present - are getting the message about why transparency is key to their survival. After our hosts break that down, they'll jump into dumb arena names after an arena complex in Winnipeg was renamed, the Hockey Hall of Fame has new members with big names potentially joining them next season, we'll circle back to the Manitoba U18 women's team heading to PEI for the Canada Winter Games, we have some Canada West ECHL and SDHL updates, and there was a new plaque unveiled in Manitoba this week honouring one of Canada's best teams!
