A One-Day Reprieve
I wish I could say I was sitting in a beach chair today. Heck, I wish I could say I was at a beach or anywhere near one, but that's not in the cards on a Wednesday in June for me. Today saw me at the ballpark for a bright-and-early game as the local professional squad played a day game where many school children were in attendance thanks to the team inviting classes and schools down to the park for a fun day of a baseball field trip. Honestly, I wish this was an option when I was in school because I would have signed up immediately, but school field trips were required to be more educational than fun in my day.
That being said, it was a heckuva day for baseball as the Winnipeg Goldeyes beat the Kane County Cougars by a 7-2 that saw Matthew Warkentin go yard to open the scoring while Ramon Bramasco put the game out of reach in the seventh inning with a three-run bomb to put the Goldeyes up by that 7-2 score. The fans in attendance, many of whom were of the younger demographic, responded enthusiatically with screams and cheers as the Goldeyes rallied to victory.
I'll be honest: that's all the sports I wanted to enjoy today, so I'm closing up shop here for a more hockey-oriented day tomorrow on The Hockey Show. We have Survivor: NHL Playoffs exits to do and we have a ton of hockey news to discuss, so please tune into that fun if you're able. Beyond that, it was a beautiful summer night here, I enjoyed it on the patio with some barbecuing, so I'm fulfilled with it comes to having a good day. I should do this more often!
Until tomorrow, folks! I hope your days were excellent too!
Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice!
