Summer Concert Jerseys

Summer is a great time for concerts. Warm air, open venues, festivals, and great music seem to dot the Canadian countryside all over the map. There have already been two major music festivals near HBIC Headquarters, and both attract hundreds of thousands of fans. Needless to say, you have to save your dollars if you want to go festival-hopping. The one thing they don't do at these festivals, however, is give hockey jerseys to musicians. Mainly because it's summer and it's hot already. But HBIC has more jersey-clad musicians today!

If you have yet to visit the page, the Musicians In Jerseys page has a pile of musicians wearing hockey jerseys already. As more arenas give jerseys to musicians for simply appearing at their own concert, this list will grow. If you'd like to see the musicians in a specific team's jersey, just click on the team name and you'll see the expanded list! And with that being said, let's get on with the show!

She basically lives in Las Vegas now, but Celine Dion was and still is fiercely proud of her Quebecois roots. She has worn a Maurice Richard jersey in concert on several occasions! She's not a one-team gal, though, as it appears she wore a Nashville Predators jersey on a trip through Tennessee on a tour before her Las Vegas gig!

I'm not much for American Idol trivia, so I had to go searching for information on David Archuleta. He's quite accomplished, it seems, as he won the children's division of the Utah Talent Competition, was the Junior Vocal Champion on Star Search 2, and was the runner-up on the seventh season of American Idol in 2008. In other words, he can sing. He also received an Anaheim Ducks jersey at an appearance at the Honda Center where he sung the anthem!

It's no secret that Michael Bublé is proud to be from Vancouver and is a solid hockey fan. He's appeared in a number of Canucks jerseys in various situations, including skating with the team. Like most musicians, though, he tours around the country. In a stop in Dallas, they recognized his love of hockey and gave him a personalized Stars jersey! Considering his favoritism towards the Canucks, this Stars jersey might only be a practice jersey for him!

In more American Idol news, this season's event led to a musician being in a jersey. Alex Preston came in third-place on the 2014 edition and thirteenth season of American Idol. Alex is just 21 years-old and hails from Mont Vernon, New Hampshire. To honour his finish, the University of New Hampshire gave Alex Preston a jersey to wear!

Robert Smith of The Cure is a regular in terms of playing concerts in hockey jerseys. I'm not sure if he's actually a hockey fan, but he's been seen in some pretty iconic uniforms. Today is no exception as Robert Smith took to the stage in an IHL Las Vegas Thunder jersey! Awesome uniform!

Snoop Dogg or Snoop Lion or whatever he's calling himself seems to be a hockey fan. He too has worn a myriad of hockey jerseys in various locations, and has even met Gary Bettman at the Stanley Cup Final! Today, we get a picture of Snoop Dogg in a Phoenix Coyotes jersey! As a bonus, the Hartford Whalers cardigan that he wore on the Jimmy Kimmel Show was a thing of beauty! That's going on the list!

Shania Twain has appeared in some sort of jersey-dress for almost all the Canadian teams. Winnipeg has yet to make an appearance, but she still has time. In any case, Shania has also been photographed in a New Jersey Devils jersey! I know why she wore the Canadian jersey-dresses, but now we can actually say we have Shania in a jersey!

Josh Groban may be busy with his new show, Rising Star, but he is an accomplished musician. He seems to enjoy collecting jerseys as well, and we have him wearing an Ottawa Senators jersey today! Groban, who trained to be an actor before becoming a singer, was actually charted as the number-one best selling artist in the United States with over 21 million records in the nation in 2007! Not a bad accolade to have!

I'll fully admit that I know as much about rap as I do about American Idol. That's to say I know very little. Sean Anderson, known as Big Sean, is a hip-hop recording star that hails from Detroit, Michigan. The 26 year-old has released two albums since 2011, and was part of both Kanye West's GOOD Music and Def Jam Recordings previously. While all of that is impressive, I'm more impressed with his pose in a Detroit Red Wings jersey. Repping the hometown team, yo! Sorry, I won't do that again.

When Brett Hull and Adam Oates played together in St. Louis, they made a great tandem in terms of scoring goals. They even earned the moniker of Hull and Oates, similar to the musicians named Daryl Hall and John Oates who had a number of hits in the 1980s. Both players have since retired, but Hall and Oates have recently started touring again. That tour took them through St. Louis earlier this year, and they were given personalized Blues jerseys! What made it even cooler is that John Oates got #12 just like Adam Oates wore, and Daryl Hall got #16 like Brett Hull wore! Cool!

And bringing it back home to my neck of the woods, May 11 saw the Backstreet Boys roll into town on their latest tour. The rather enthusiastic crowd seemed to enjoy seeing their 1990s-era heroes, and they took it one step further when they appeared on stage in personalized Jets jerseys for "Larger Than Life". Yes, they got a huge pop for wearing the jerseys.

There's another installment of musicians wearing jerseys! If you have any images of musicians wearing jerseys, send them over here and I'll credit you with the find! If you want to see more, click here to get to the original article where the full list exists!

Hockey and musicians - making good music together!

Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice!
