The Hockey Show - Episode Eighty-Six
The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced hockey radio show, is back with a pile of stuff to cover tonight. It's going to be busy, so buckle up and get ready for some fun! We have NHL Playoffs, KHL Playoffs, Survivor: NHL Playoffs exit interviews, some chatter on the epic collapse of the San Jose Sharks, 3 Rounds Deep, and more! It'll be a show filled with chatter about hockey, so you don't want to miss tonight's episode!
Click here to download if you missed the link above. Again, Round Two starts tomorrow night, so get those picks in! If there's a deadline problem, email me!
Good luck in Round Two, and first-round scores will be posted tomorrow on HBIC!
Tonight on the 3 Rounds Deep segment, we're going to honour the guys who may not be the best players or the leading scorers or anything like that. Instead, thanks to Nino Neiderreiter's overtime goal last night, Beans and I are going to go 3 Rounds Deep on the most clutch playoff performers of all-time. There could be some great names thrown out there tonight, so you might wanna take part in this one. Lots of players could be included based on their clutch goal-scoring or timely goal-scoring in the playoffs over the years.
If you wanna be a part of 3 Rounds Deep tonight, give us a call during the segment at 204-269-8636 (269-UMFM) and we'll put you on the air! Same rules as always as we can't repeat picks made by others and neither can you, so it will get a little tougher as people start participating. We'll start it off, then open up the phone lines and hit Twitter for everyone else to participate.
Going 3 ROUNDS DEEP tonight: Most clutch players in the playoffs of all-time. You know what to do!
We will also be calling the first eight people out of the pool tonight! There were eight people eliminated in the opening round of the Stanley Cup Playoffs, so that also means that we'll be hopefully talking to a number of them tonight. Amongst those eliminated were Jeff (STL), John (PHI), Kevin (CBJ), Lynne (DAL), Ernest (TBL), Brent (COL), Tyler (SJS), and Lisa (DET). We'll be calling a number of these people tonight, and we'll do the remainder next week.
There were a few prizes awarded in the opening round, so we'll cover those off as well. We didn't post prizing, but we have some for a few people who had their team and players accomplish something big. We'll talk a little about that tonight as well.
Congratulations to the eight people who made it through the opening round: Veronique (NYR), Ashley (MIN), Ray (PIT), Shelley (MTL), Brittany (ANA), Carney (CHI), Al (LAK), and Barry (BOS). The game pushes forward, though, and only four will remain after this round. Best of luck to all of you!
Again, it's a busy show tonight, so turn it on and turn it up! You can find us in the Winnipeg region on 101.5 UMFM on the radio dial between 5:30 and 6:30pm CT. Your web-enabled devices can pick us up on the UMFM website at the same time. You can reach us by phone at 204-269-8636 (269-UMFM) while on the air. You can tweet me anytime at @TeebzHBIC. You can even see where I post some crazy stuff by jumping onto Facebook. There are a ton of opportunities to interact, so buzz us one way or another and we'll chat some hockey!

HBIC Playoff Pool Round Two
First, I need to start with some blog business. With Round Two of the NHL Stanley Cup Playoffs starting tomorrow, the new spreadsheet has been configured. Again, to expedite the marking, I have created a pretty little Excel document that can be opened in both Microsoft Excel and OpenOffice Calc. Fill this out and send it back to me WITH YOUR NAME AS THE NAME OF THE EXCEL DOCUMENT (ie. Teebz.xls). Once more, if you are going to use the .numbers format that Apple machines use, please see if you can save the document in .pdf or some sort of common format between the Apple and Windows platforms. That's my only request from all participants!Click here to download if you missed the link above. Again, Round Two starts tomorrow night, so get those picks in! If there's a deadline problem, email me!
