The Hockey Show - Episode 143
The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced hockey radio show, is on the Winnipeg airwaves and across the internet tonight at 5:30pm CT once more, and we'll feature a special guest who is enjoying our fair city and province this week on a Women's World Cup roadtrip! Rarely do we find exceptional guests who make it into the studio to talk NCAA and women's hockey, but we're lucky to have ties with this outstanding woman and we'll talk with her tonight!
The lady to the left is the always-informative Nicole Haase, and we are proud to have the Wisconsin-based writer joining us in-studio tonight as she's in Winnipeg to catch the US National Team's progress at the FIFA Women's World Cup. Nicole is always a fantastic source of information about what's happening in the NCAA and in women's hockey, so we'll talk to her about the upcoming college season, some of the off-season moves in women's hockey, the CWHL, the NWHL, and more. If he's up for it, we'll try to get her husband Andrew in on the action too as it's always a good thing to get more perspectives on the state of hockey!
In other news, we might bring up the recent twist in the Coyotes drama going on, but none of us are lawyers so specifics and legal discussions will be kept to a minimum. I know that there are a number of people that have opinions on the mess in the desert, but let's remember that there are fans who truly love this team and employees who need this team to remain there. There is a social aspect to this mess, and that should not be forgotten in the wake of all this political and legal garbage. Ok? Ok.
With Nicole in the studio tonight, we'd normally close off the phones, but we want your calls tonight! Hit us up at 204-269-8636! Join us tonight on 101.5 UMFM on your radio dial in the Winnipeg region or you can listen live between 5:30pm and 6:30pm CT on your web-enabled device at the UMFM webpage! You can tweet me anytime you like by hitting me up at @TeebzHBIC on Twitter. You can also post some stuff to Facebook if you use the "Like" feature, and I always have crazy stuff posted there that doesn't make it to the blog or show. We're talking collegiate and women's hockey tonight, so get ready to brush up your knowledge on those topics!
