The Rundown - Week 11

With every Canadian school on break for exams and the holiday season, there's little to report in the way of scores and games. I stated last week that I was going to look at potential award winners from each school and conference, but I'm putting that on hold this week. There has been a new development in the CIS world thanks to an amazing website adding CIS University commitments by players! Honestly, you should bookmark that URL because it's going to prove vital if you're following any CIS or NCAA teams. In posting this, I want to run down the list of players for each school because it's getting to be very interesting! Please note that stats are current as of today only. First off, it appears that Manitoba is producing a ton of great women's hockey players. Every team but Mount Royal above has at least one Manitoba-trained player on their recruiting list, so kudos to the Keystone Province in their work in women's hockey. It says a lot about the women's junior program in this province, and I'm proud of the talent being produced by Hockey Manitoba.

Can I just say that in this day and age not having public statistics available is the epitome of garbage. The Markham-Stouffville league allows its teams to keep statistics private which does nothing for teams and programs looking for information on its players, and really limits its players in terms of scouting options.
