The Hockey Show - Episode 376

The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced radio show that strictly talks hockey, is still out on the road for some more fun tonight as the show joins a rather incredible event for the hour on the radio plus more on the UMFM Second Stream as we broadcast from the Pony Corral Restaurant downtown for the Hockey Helps The Homeless Pro-Am Draft! The Hockey Helps The Homeless tournament runs tomorrow at the Seven Oaks Sportsplex in Winnipeg, but the exclusive event tonight for VIPs, sponsors, players, and pros will be broadcast by UMFM on the Second Stream for all to hear! Who will go first-overall in the draft? Which team raised the most money to earn the honour of drafting first-overall? We'll find out tonight!

Joining me tonight on the show in the co-host's chair is a woman I have the utmost respect for as she's a heckuva hockey player, a better person, and a fantastic hockey mind! I'll be joined by Bisons women's hockey captain Jordy Zacharias as she brings her perspective on the game to the show! Tonight, Jordy and I will discuss the ongoing culture issues in hockey when we're not joined by guests. It's pretty clear that there needs to be changes made inside hockey, and I'll get her thoughts on the matter as a current player. We'll likely also speak to Hockey Helps The Homeless executives as we meet the team that brought the tournament to Winnipeg for the very first time, and we'll get their thoughts on the run-up to the tournament happening tomorrow! It all kicks off on the radio at 5:30pm CT on 101.5 UMFM and on the UMFM Second Stream!

Before we get to the social media plug and the synopsis, there's more to discuss because once the show closes at 6:30pm CT, we'll be exclusively broadcasting the entire HHTH Draft on the UMFM Second Stream for the remainder of the evening. While it may be an exclusive event for sponsors and VIPs as a thank-you for their support, UMFM has been invited to broadcast the entirety of the HHTH Draft over the radio... er, internet stream! We'll meet the pros, talk to team captains of the twelve teams playing in the event, chat with sponsors, and intermingle with VIPs all night as we bring you the first-ever HHTH Draft in Winnipeg! This should be an amazing piece of radio, and I want to thank Hockey Helps The Homeless for giving us this opportunity to be the first city to have their draft broadcast to the world! Make sure you tune in to find out which player is the first-ever draft pick at the Winnipeg tournament!

Where's the best place can you hear us for the 5:30-6:30pm hour if you're outside Winnipeg, you ask? The new UMFM website's online streaming player is pretty awesome if you want to listen online. If you're using an Apple device, the player doesn't seem to like Safari yet, but we highly recommend you use the TuneIn app found on the App Store or perhaps another browser. If you do use the TuneIn app, you won't be disappointed. It's a solid app.

For the remainder of the event tonight, you must use the UMFM Second Stream to hear the fun. The internet stream is only found on or via this link, so make sure you're using that to tune in to the first-ever HHTH Pro-Am Draft tonight!

Having lost faith in Facebook, I spend far less time on that site for good reasons. In saying that, you can still email all show questions and comments to! Tweet me anytime with questions you may have by hitting me up at @TeebzHBIC on Twitter! I'm here to listen to you, so make your voice heard!

Tonight, Teebz and Jordy Zacharias sit down and discuss the culture in hockey with a focus on women's hockey as Jordy can give us a first-hand glimpse into high-level women's hockey, and we'll talk to executive, players, captains, sponsors, and VIPs of the first-ever Hockey Helps The Homeless tournament in Winnipeg on a show that will extend way late into the evening as the regular hour of The Hockey Show will be found exclusively on 101.5 UMFM and on the web stream while the fun that goes past the 6:30pm CT mark will be exclusively on the UMFM Second Stream!

ODCAST: December 5, 2019: Episode 376
