The Hockey Show - Episode 485

The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced radio show that strictly talks hockey, kicks off 2022 with Teebz doing a solo show tonight! With both Jenna and Jason busy with their own lives tonight, Teebz has an hour of hockey chatter to keep you informed as to what's happening in the hockey world. There were some great stories from the last few days of 2021 and into 2022, and those stories get full coverage tonight. Of course, there were some not-so-good stories as well, and those are mentioned as well. It's a busy episode, so settle in for The Hockey Show!

Tonight, Teebz focuses on the postponements that have happened across the U SPORTS calendars and what that means for schedules in those conferences. The postponed games has seen an exodus of OUA men's hockey talent leave Ontario for the professional game, and he breaks down why this isn't good for U SPORTS men's hockey. There were a couple of great stories this week of former U SPORTS athletes making their NHL debuts, and Teebz talks about the little-known secret called U SPORTS. There's a fun story about the shorthanded Portland Winterhawks, a fun story about the shorthanded Utah Grizzlies, and Teebz breaks down how the Winter Classic has lost its lustre. Where's the best place can you hear tonight's show if you're outside Winnipeg or not near a radio, you ask? The new UMFM website's online streaming player is pretty awesome if you want to listen online. If you're using an Apple device, the player doesn't seem to like Safari yet, so if you want to stream the show I'd recommend Radio Garden to do that as it works nicely with Safari. If you're more of an app person, we recommend you use the TuneIn app found on the App Store or Google Play Store. If you do use the TuneIn app, you won't be disappointed. It's a solid app.
