The Hockey Show - Episode 486

The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced radio show that strictly talks hockey, hits the airwaves tonight with Teebz and Jenna as they go over some of the bigger stories in hockey that have a Canadian element to them! It's good to have Jenna back on the show as she brings some fire, so we'll get her fired up tonight on the program. There are some tributes to a couple of people no longer with us, there are some congratulations for former guests who are doing big things, and, as always, there's a lot of hockey to discuss!

Tonight, Teebz and Jenna go over the Canadian Women's Olympic Team, highlight the Manitobans who will skate for Canada in Beijing, and lament the fact that U SPORTS has just one representative with no others invited to the centralization camp. They have a discussion about the KHL suspending their season for a week over the large number of positive COVID-19 cases seen in players, and how this may really affect at least three Olympic teams who are looking to fill their rosters for Beijing. There's a breakdown of the Evander Kane insanity and why joining the Oilers is a bad idea. There's a chat about Hockey PEI's bad decision and the resolution to that decision. There's a quick hit as we get ready for the Bisons to tangle with the MacEwan Griffins. And we have both tributes and congratualtions for people we lost and people we enjoy seeing succeed, so it's a busy show on the program tonight as we fill the hour at 5:30pm CT on 101.5 FM, Channel 718 on MTS TV, or via UMFM.com!

Where's the best place can you hear tonight's show if you're outside Winnipeg or not near a radio, you ask? The new UMFM website's online streaming player is pretty awesome if you want to listen online. If you're using an Apple device, the player doesn't seem to like Safari yet, so if you want to stream the show I'd recommend Radio Garden to do that as it works nicely with Safari. If you're more of an app person, we recommend you use the TuneIn app found on the App Store or Google Play Store. If you do use the TuneIn app, you won't be disappointed. It's a solid app.
