The Hockey Show - Episode 538

The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced radio show that strictly talks hockey, is back tonight with a show that, admittedly, should have happened long before today. We take pride in talking about the grassroots efforts and the next generation of hockey stars because those stories are the ones people remember when talking about tormorrow's stars. That leads into today where we'll ask what if there was an incredible hockey community working tirelessly to make things better for their players without the help or assistance from hockey's governing bodies at all levels? That will be one of the questions we ask as we welcome two people from Sledge Hockey Manitoba to the show!

Tonight, The Hockey Show is proud, honoured, privileged, humbled, and pleased to welcome goaltender Logan Bilodeau, a 2022-23 Team Canada selection camp invitee, and Renald Bilodeau, longtime volunteer and current President of Sledge Hockey Manitoba, to the program tonight! Teebz and Jason will chat with Logan and Renald about the successes of Sledge Hockey Manitoba when it comes to getting players like Logan, Alyssa White, and others to the national level. They'll also chat about some of the challenges that Sledge Hockey Manitoba faces when it comes to funding, growing the game, and making sledge hockey as accepted as regular hockey around the province. Finally, we'll get a sense of where these two men want to see the game in five or ten years when it comes to playing as part of larger national tournaments and potentially having thriving local leagues within the province. It should be a rather amazing chat about a type of hockey that often gets forgotten in the bigger picture, but we're going to bring it into the spotlight tonight on The Hockey Show at 5:30pm CT on one of 101.5 FM, Channel 718 on MTS TV, or via UMFM.com!

If you're using an Apple device, the player doesn't seem to like Safari yet, so if you want to stream the show I'd recommend Radio Garden to do that as it works nicely with Safari.
