The Dust Has Settled
With the Stanley Cup having been awarded to the Pittsburgh Penguins on Monday, that officially brought a close to the 2016 HBIC Playoff Pool for another year! This year's pool finished in an amazingly tight race for the eighth and final prize spot, but we finished with no ties! All eight prize winners won on their own merit and prognostications without going to the tie-breaker, so congratulations to the eight winners below! Without further adieu, let's take a look at who those eight people are.
If your name is not on the table above, please check the Leaderboard page for final point totals! And well done, everyone!
For those on the Winners Board above, I will start sending emails this weekend to coordinate for your prizes. It works the same as it has every year - first-place (Daniel) will get to select from the entire prize list, second-place (LJ) will get to choose from what remains, and so on and so forth until all eight competitors have received something for free.
This was one of the more interesting HBIC Playoff Pools in history simply due to the number of Stanley Cup favorites that fell in the first two rounds. Credit to Daniel and his crystal ball, though, as he scored 60% of his total points in the opening round (!) and cruised to a victory this year. 61 points in Round One is an incredible total, and he really set himself up for the remainder of the contest.
In saying that, congratulations to all the winners and entrants this year, and thanks again for playing! You're all champs in my books for making this contest so much fun, and I can't say thank you enough for your participation! Well done, everyone!
Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice!
