The Hockey Show - Episode 395
The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced radio show that strictly talks hockey, returns tonight from my living room which feels like an odd thing to say, but c'est la vie in today's brave, new world. The interview series continues as we're all still in self-isolation and the radio station remains closed, but we'll meet someone tonight who I hold in the highest esteem for everything he's done in his career. He's a living legend when it comes to sports broadcasts on both television and radio, and his work in the hockey world and the Canadian football world may be unparalleled.
Tonight, I am honoured to be able to speak to the man to the left who has done more in his career than I'll ever achieve in my life as The Hockey Show welcomes Dave Hodge to the show! Dave was famously the host of Hockey Night in Canada on CBC for 16 years before joining TSN in 1992, but his work in radio can't be overlooked as he's had a long career where radio and TV have intertwined! I'll talk to Dave about his start on radio, some of the cool jobs he's held when not on TV on Saturday nights, some of the characters he worked with at the CBC, his TSN work and the honours and accolades he's earned there, and, of course, Hockey Night in Canada. I am excited to meet Dave and discuss his illustrious career, so please join me tonight at 5:30pm on UMFM for this interview!
Just before anyone asks, yes, there will be a discussion about the video below.
So where's the best place can you hear the show if you're outside Winnipeg or not near a radio, you ask? The new UMFM website's online streaming player is pretty awesome if you want to listen online. If you're using an Apple device, the player doesn't seem to like Safari yet, but we highly recommend you use the TuneIn app found on the App Store or perhaps another browser. If you do use the TuneIn app, you won't be disappointed. It's a solid app.
If you have questions, you can email all show queries and comments to hockeyshow@umfm.com! Tweet me anytime with questions you may have by hitting me up at @TeebzHBIC on Twitter! I'm here to listen to you, so make your voice heard!
Tonight, Teebz sits down with Dave Hodge to look back on his career and learn about his start, his work at Hockey Night in Canada, his CFL work, moving to TSN, what the future holds for him, and much more exclusively on 101.5 UMFM and on the UMFM.com web stream!
