The Hockey Show - Episode 490

The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced radio show that strictly talks hockey, sees Teebz go solo tonight as he welcomes a guest who has been doing all sorts of great things for the last number of years. It isn't often we get to talk to players who have "unfinished business", but tonight's guest is living that life right now as her team pushes for a second consecutive berth at the U SPORTS National Championship in Charlottetown, PEI! Her team is one weekend worth of wins away from locking up home-ice advantage throughout the playoffs, so we'll get all the details on why Mount Royal is steamrolling Canada West this season!

Tonight, Teebz goes one-on-one with the leading scorer for the Mount Royal Cougars and one of the leading goal scorers in the Canada West Conference as we meet Cougars assistant captain Tianna Ko! They chat about growing up in Calgary, playing minor hockey in Calgary, landing with Mount Royal, some of her career highlights, the evolution of the Cougars, the OT goal, and much more as we get to know Tianna Ko before she graduates! The Cougars are aiming for a shot at the U SPORTS National Championship after COVID-19 denied them that opportunity in 2019-20, and Tianna is a big part of the team's success this season as she and her "hockey soulmates" light lamps across western Canada! We learn a lot about Tianna in the hour we have with her tonight, so make sure you're listening at 5:30pm CT on 101.5 FM, Channel 718 on MTS TV, or via UMFM.com!

Where's the best place can you hear tonight's show if you're outside Winnipeg or not near a radio, you ask? The new UMFM website's online streaming player is pretty awesome if you want to listen online. If you're using an Apple device, the player doesn't seem to like Safari yet, so if you want to stream the show I'd recommend Radio Garden to do that as it works nicely with Safari.
