The Hockey Show - Episode 511

The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced radio show that strictly talks hockey, returns tonight with a fun interview with a player who we've been trying to get on this show since last season. Her accolades and accomplishments are many, and I have a feeling that she's only going to add more as a member of the Mount Royal Cougars before all is said and done on her hockey career. Beyond that, she's a hockey nut, played a few other sports, and clearly is someone with whom I had to chat!

With Jason off for the night, Teebz sits down with Mount Royal Cougars forward Sydney Benko to talk about life as a member of the Calgary Fire, as part of the Rocky Mountain Raiders as seen to the left, and with the Mount Royal Cougars. They discuss stats and accolades, facing old teammates, being named to Hockey Alberta summer camps and how that elevated her game, being recruited (or not?) by Mount Royal, starting university during a pandemic, her university career highlights to date, and a pile of other stuff. We also squeeze in her Survivor: NHL Playoffs exit interview after Tampa Bay was dismissed, so there's a lot to hear tonight include an announcement for next season!
