I'm Voting Obama

I'll be honest in telling you that I haven't watched one moment of the Presidential Debates. I don't watch any of the Wolf Blitzers or Bill O'Reillys or any of the other talking heads on TV when it comes to who is leading the polls or trending on Twitter. In fact, I don't even watch David Letterman or Jay Leno when they have the Presidential candidates on, but President Barack Obama may have just swayed me in his favor after his latest appearance on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno.

Mike from Los Angeles asked if Mr. Obama can pull some strings with regards to ending the NHL lockout. Mr. Obama had this answer.
"You guys make money because you've got a whole bunch of fans out there who are working really hard - they buy tickets, they're watching on TV.

"You all should be able to figure this out. Get this done. The fans deserve it."
I've never heard better words spoken by a President. If I was an American, I'd be voting for Barack Obama. HBIC endorses his message.

Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice!

Just words. Didn't answer the question asked and committed to nothing. That is exactly what the debates have been. Obama had four years to fix the financial mess and hasn't. Time to give someone else a try. Who know, maybe if the owners are making a lot of money in their other business they'll stop locking out the players and we can have a short season.

I have only read what gets published here in Canada, Sage, so I have a few questions.

The guy on the other side has been instrumental in crushing small business and outsourcing jobs to everywhere else while making millions in not paying taxes. If you don't pay taxes like the American public, are you really American?

Did anyone really believe that he could fix George Bush's eight years of insanity in less than four years? Going into debt takes exponentially longer to get out of than to get into, and the fact that he's slowed the bleeding is better than opening the floodgates again.

Agree with your points on the crushing of small business, and the hold the Bush Administration dug Teebz.....

The right doesn't realize what they themselves allowed to be done to the USA under their watch. If they want to blame anyone for outsourcing jobs, the right just needs to look in the mirror for that one. Cashing big cheques, and not re-investing in North American business may not have started on their watch, but it sure took off under it.

Obama has had 4 years to try to turn the ship, but these things take time. For the US to go more conservative and circle the wagons tighter would just make the toilet bowl they are circling economically right now flush even faster....

And yes, Obama's quips on the NHL strike are exactly the way many of us feel. The whining from the players over what would amount to a few hundred thousand dollars on the say $5mil salary is like $50 bucks to you and I....as for the Owners, absolutely no sympathy there either.

Have we heard anyone come forward during this and say "what we really want to do is make it affordable for a family of 4 to go to an NHL game to grow the game even more"?....
