The Hockey Show - Episode Four

Teebz and Beans return to the airwaves tonight on 101.5 UMFM as The Hockey Show stops in for its fourth episode, and we bring good news! The podcasts are now live, and you can listen to past episodes when you like! I'll link the podcasts below individually, but if you click on the above link and then click on the episode, the podcast will be there for you download! We're riding this technology wave now!

Tonight's episode included:
  • Pat LaFontaine's potential bid for ownership for the New York Islanders.
  • Charles Wang trying to get $300 million for the Islanders.
  • Do players make good owners? Lemieux and Gretzky are discussed.
  • Rick Jeanneret is identified as the best play-by-play guy.
  • Technical difficulties prevented us from playing some classic Jeanneret clips. Honestly, how does the in-studio computer freeze up mid-show? We'll have those clips next week, though.
  • We talk in detail about Pledge-O-Rama and the NHL '94 Tournament.
  • Evander Kane makes his debut in the KHL.
  • Ondrej Pavelec's bloated GAA and horrific record don't look good in the Czech League.
  • Andrew Ladd turns down an offer to play with Avangard Omsk in the KHL.
The current episode won't go live until later in the week, but the first three episodes are available via podcast now. All are in .mp3 format, and should be playable on the vast majority of devices.
  • Episode One - Topics discussed: CBA negotiations, KHL rules for locked out NHL players, lockout affects the CHL and World Junior Championships, and more!
  • Episode Two - Topics discussed: CBA negotiations and why the owners will not start a season under the current terms of the CBA, CIS hockey begins and we're excited for Bisons hockey, the OHL introduces new rules on fighting, the Jets signing of Evander Kane, and the Jets sending Alexander Burmistrov to St. John's of the AHL.
  • Episode Three - Topics discussed: Seattle vs. Edmonton with regards to the Oilers' fate, and the U of M Bisons men's hockey team kicks their season off tomorrow so we preview the Bisons team! All that and more in Episode 3!

Have a listen, and we'll see you next week!

Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice!
