Lemme See Your War-Face!

Stan Butler had his "war-face" on tonight. You might remember the scene from Stanley Kubrick's Full Metal Jacket where Sergeant Gunnery Hartman asks to see Private Joker's "war-face". Stan Butler's war-face looks as it does to the left. Why did Mr. Butler have his war-face on? Well, it could be for a few reasons, but it occurred during tonight's game between the North Bay Battalion and the Ottawa 67s. Needless to say, the players seated behind Stan Butler look like they're fearing for their lives as he holds the stick in his hands as a samurai would hold a katana sword.

The Butler-coached Battalion led 4-1 at one point over the 67s before things began to turn sour for the Battalion. The video below of Butler showing off his war-face came after Ottawa's Dante Salturo had cut North Bay's lead to 4-3. Butler felt that North Bay, who were to be called on a delayed penalty, touched the puck sufficiently before Salturo's goal. The result? Butler's war-face.

North Bay wound up losing 6-5 in a shootout. I can't imagine the post-game war-face Butler would have had in the dressing room, but I'm pretty sure that OHL Commissioner David Branch may want to speak to Butler about his overall performance last night. There won't be a war-face seen by Butler in that meeting.

Until next time, keep your sticks on the ice!
