The Hockey Show - Episode 524

The Hockey Show, Canada's only campus-produced radio show that strictly talks hockey, is back tonight on the UMFM airwaves to talk all things hockey, but we're going to focus on one story yet again because it seems that one organization is hellbent on destroying both its reputation and any chance of saving face in the light of the ongoing scandals it's currently facing. Of course, I speak of Hockey Canada who sat before the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage on Tuesday and continued to maintain its ridiculous stance that everyone not named "Hockey Canada" is to blame for Hockey Canada's problems. Settle in, folks, because we have a lot to discuss from that meeting and the fallout we're seeing right up to show time!

Much like Bart Simpson, it seems that Hockey Canada insists on harming itself more than it should in trying to win public favour. Tonight, Teebz and Jason will discuss the contentious meeting that current Board Chair Andrea Skinner and former Board Chair Michael Brind'Amour had with the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage with respect to the willful ignorance that both people seemed to show. Beyond that, our hosts will discuss the repercussions from that meeting and what may happen next, the Canadiens handing a three-year deal to a convicted criminal, a former Dino finding a new place to play, a couple of former Griffins making the cut, a current Huskies forward doing a great thing, the Calgary-based Cougars getting a chunk of money, a legend potentially hanging up the skates, a new mascot in the NHL, and a pile of other stuff if we can squeeze it into our hour!
